Omaha — Floyd Eugene Harvey Jr., 65, of Omaha, formerly of O'Neill, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025 at UNMC - Clarkston Tower in Omaha. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025 at St. Martin of Tours Episcopal Church in Omaha. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation. Floyd was born Jan 31, 1959, at the Navel Hospital in San Diego, CA, to Floyd and Shirley Harvey. He graduated from O'Neill High School in 1977. During summers in high school, Floyd work in the hay fields, after high school he wanted to go into the U.S. Navy in the nuclear field but unfortunately couldn't pass the physical due to his eyesight, he worked at the nursing home, which is where he decided to take up nursing and moved to Omaha to attend school at Bellevue College, He went to Bellevue University for nursing and worked at First Data Resources. On April 18th, 1998, Floyd married Lori Hungerford in Omaha. Floyd loved to read, playing dungeons and dragons, watching Jeopardy which he would know most of the answers, none of us could beat him. He loved Huskers football and spending time with his grandsons. While in O'Neill, Floyd was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and was elected to many offices. Floyd enjoyed playing pool, shooting darts on a dart league and playing poker. Floyd is survived by his wife Lori Harvey; four children stepson Jacob Marquiss, stepdaughter Terresa Marquiss, son David Harvey and daughter Jeannine Harvey; three grandchildren Joey Brisby, Azreal Colwell and Dmitri Harvey-Barnes; one brother John (Kris) Harvey of O'Neill; three sisters Debbie Dye of O'Neill, Kim Harvey of Omaha and Kathy (Vern) Lieb of Grand Island; along with many extended family. He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, mother, father, little sister, aunts and uncles, a brother-in-law and his father-in-law John Hungerford.
