Lynch — Eva Mae Bessert, 90, of Lynch, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024 at Arbor Care Centers in O'Neill.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024 at Lynch Community Hall in Lynch.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024 at the community hall in Lynch. Pastor John Nelson will officiate.

A private graveside service will be held at the Scottville Cemetery in rural O'Neill.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Biglin's Mortuary in Spencer is in charge of the arrangements.

Eva was born Sept. 18, 1933 to Fred and Ida (White) Truax at Redbird and passed from this life to her Eternal Rest on Sept. 11, 2024 at Arbor Care Centers in O'Neill.  At the age of three months the family moved to Schuyler where Eva attended Trinity Lutheran Parochial School until she was in the eighth grade. Her family then moved back to Redbird where she graduated from eighth grade as an honor student from Redbird, District 3. 

She was confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Lynch in 1946 and has been a member there until her death.  

Eva married Arthur Dale Bessert June 26, 1951.  This union was blessed with four beautiful children.  Kathy, Roger, Tom and Jody. She lost her true love Dale on June 25, 1990.

After Dale's death she continued to live in their home. She worked as a teacher's aide at Lynch Public School and in 1993 she obtained her GED. She then continued her education by attending college at Northeast Community College in Norfolk for medical secretary. 

Eva was blessed with a job at Niobrara Valley Hospital as a medical secretary and worked there for six years. She then went to work for Central Nebraska Community Services out of O'Neill and worked there until she retired in 2006. 

After retirement she was a care giver for several terminally ill clients.

Eva is survived by her four children Kathy (Dennis) VanEvery of Page, Roger (Linda) Bessert of Casa Grande, AZ, Tom Bessert of Redbird and Jody (Dannelle) Bessert of Silverdale, WA; seven grandchildren Greg (Maria) VanEvery, Denise (Nathan) Andrews, Reed Bessert, Jess Bessert, Virginia (Varian Jackson) Bessert, Kieran (Colby) Bessert and Carter Bessert; 16 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dale in 1990, her parents, her siblings, one granddaughter and one great-grandson.
