Elsie M. Pribil

Elsie Marie Pribil, age 91, of O'Neill, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital in O'Neill.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 25, 2011, from 3-9 p.m. at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill, with a 4:30 p.m. Catholic Daughter rosary and an 8 p.m. parish rosary.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill. Rev. Jeff Lorig officiated. Music was provided by John Digilio, organist and Jody Digilio and Ann Giandinoto, vocalists.

Burial was held in the O'Neill Calvary Cemetery.

Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill was in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers were Bill Pribil, Greg Pribil, Shawn Distefano, Justin Sitzmann, Bryan Digilio and Lucas Pribil.

Honorary pallbearers were Kali Medina, Michelle Heckmann, Gina Gilbert, Dan Digilio, Ricky Distefano, Adam Pribil, Angie Stingley, Michaela Bies, Jennifer DeTienne, Joe Distefano, Travis Reeves, Jessica Pribil, Jeromy Pribil, Christine Stoner, Nick Digilio, Marcie Distefano, Katie Elsberry and Nicole Pribil.

Elsie was born on Aug. 10, 1919, at O'Neill to Cyril and Mary (Prokopec) Peter. She grew up in this area and attended school there. Elsie graduated from St. Mary's Academy in O'Neill and attended one year of college. On May 15, 1943 she was united in marriage to Frelent Pribil. They made their home in the O'Neill area where they farmed and ranched. Frelent passed away on May 10, 1981. Elsie remained on their home place until April of 2005 when she moved into O'Neill.

Elsie was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill, St. Patrick's Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of the America's, American Legion Auxiliary, a Bible study group and Renew group, St. Francis Associates and she helped with the Spirit of St. Mary's news letter.

She is survived by six sons, Bob Pribil and wife Glenda of Hinton, Iowa, Tom Pribil and wife Meg of Papillion, Jim Pribil of Rifle, CO, Ken Pribil and wife Becky of Springfield, Jerry Pribil and wife Diane of O’Neill and Gary Pribil and wife Dawn of Vermillion, SD; three daughters; Bev Sitzmann and husband Larry of Sioux Falls, SD, Lou Digilio and husband, Jody of Omaha and Donna Distefano of Omaha; 24 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 12 step great- grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Harold “Bud” Pribil; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frelend; infant twins, Louis and Lorraine; one sister, Lillian Keating; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; and one step-grandchild.

Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Church in O'Neill.
