Chambers — Edythe "Muffy" Mae Justin, 85, of Chambers, died peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026 at Accura Healthcare in O'Neill. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation. Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill is in charge of the arrangements. Edythe was born July 20, 1940 in O'Neill, to Glen and Pauline (Russell) Grimes. She grew up and attended Chambers High School. Muffy graduated with the class of 1957. In 1962, Muffy worked at the Nebraska State Capital where she met her future husband Curtis Justin who was stationed at the Lincoln Air Force Base. Muffy and Curtis married on March 28, 1964 at the Chambers Methodist Church in Chambers. To this union twin boys born in St. Paul, MN; Donald C. Justin and Daniel C. Justin. In 1993 they retired to Chambers and joined the Chambers Methodist Church, Muffy was the church historian. She was an active member of the Chambers American Legion Auxiliary, where she served as president for four years. Muffy helped maintain the Chambers Cemetery for many years. Muffy enjoyed her garden and playing cards where she was part of a garden and card club. She enjoyed the outdoors and also loved to travel with her beloved husband Curtis. Muffy is survived by her husband of 61 years Curtis Justin of Chambers; two sons Daniel (Rita) Justin of Grand Island and Donald (Tania) Justin of Valrico, FL; three grandchildren Andrew Watkins, Christina Justin and Britney Gallows; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Glen and Pauline Grimes, one sister Darlene Adams and two brothers Richard Grimes and Bernard Grimes.
