Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026 at the church in Butte.

Burial was in the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Butte.

Ed Reiman was born on July 10, 1942, to Lawrence and Helen (Reiser) Reiman on the family farm located one and one-half miles east of Butte. He was the youngest of five children. At the age of six, Ed moved with his parents, sister Darlene and brother Jerome to the homeplace just east of Butte off Highway 12. The home was moved from Anoka, and for the first time the family enjoyed having electricity.

Ed attended Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School through the eighth grade and then attended Butte High School with track being his favorite sport. He graduated with the class of 1960.

After high school, Ed began farming alongside his father.

On Oct. 19, 1964, he was inducted into the Army National Guard and completed his basic training at Fort Jackson, SC. He served honorably and was discharged in March of 1970.

On Dec. 14, 1968, Ed married Catherine Liewer at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Butte, where he was a lifelong member. Together they made their home on the farm where Ed was raised. There, they raised their five children Debra, Paula, Duane, Mark and Steven.

Ed spent his entire life farming and ranching, and took pride in raising drug free Angus beef for market. He did custom corn shelling for several years and enjoyed working together with good neighbors Art and Ed Reiser. Some of his best times were going to the ranch along the Niobrara to check the cows, taking the kids on a picnic, fishing and swimming, and cutting that perfect Christmas tree. In later years, he was blessed with grandchildren and great-grandchildren bringing Ed great joy. They fondly remember riding in the truck with Grandpa to check the cows, going for rides in the combine or tractor, and simply sitting with him as he read them a story.

Faith, family and friends were important to Ed and he was thankful he was able to run the combine all fall harvesting the corn and beans.

Ed is survived by his wife Cathy of 57 years; five children Debra (Troy) Hedlund of Sioux City, Iowa, Paula (Todd) Singbeil of Reed Point, MT, Duane (Laura) Reiman of Butte, Mark (Miranda) Reiman of Cozad and Steven Reiman of Butte; 14 grandchildren Mitchell (Desi), Dana (Austin), Kortney (Kevin), Ann (Houston), Kali (Garrett), Tanner, John, Carson, Brooklyn, Cassidy, Mckenna, Nora, Laney and Lila; eight great-grandchildren Hayes Hedlund, Wesley, Rylee, Tatum and Beau Rohrs, Drake and Brock Carlson, and Conrad Hawkins; one sister Darlene Walz of Butte; in-laws Brenda Reiman, Lorraine Liewer, Larry (Nadine) Liewer, Neil Liewer, Karen LeMunyan, Patty (Larry) Schroetlin and Steve (Kathy) Liewer; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Helen; parents-in-law Matt and Lucile Liewer; three brothers James (Barb) Reiman, Jack (Jean) Reiman and Jerome Reiman; a sister in infancy; and three brothers-in-law James Walz, Gary LeMunyan and Terry Liewer.
