Eagles Trample Over Columbus Scotus

The O'Neill Eagles are in the last week of regular play and currently tied for fourth in power points. The Eagles have secured a position in post season play. The Eagles traveled to Columbus last Friday and decimated the Columbus Scotus Shamrocks by a score of 32-13. The last time they met up the Eagles lost by a score of  62-14.

O'Neill was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 231 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 155 rushing yards in five consecutive match-ups.

O'Neill pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. 

The offense got the job done with the help of  brothers Brady and Braxton Eichelberger, who led the charge in downing Scotus with Braxen scoring three times and with PATS had 20 points for the Eagles. Brady Eichelberger had three touchdowns for 18 points. Porter Mathews and Grady Welke each contributed six towards the win.

The Eagles defense goose egged the Shamrocks for the first half of the game with the Eagles scoring 14 points in the first half. Eagles defense scored in the third when Porter Mathews got an interception and ran it 50 yards for the touchdown. Westen Kohl also took an interception for a 20 yard gain for the Eagles.

Brady Eichelberger had 23 carries for 160 yards and three touchdowns;  Porter Mathews eight carries for 50 yards; Welke four carries for 15 yards;  and Turner Heiss four carries for six yards. The Eagles had 231 yards rushing and

Pryor Mathews led the defense with 11 tackles; Porter Mathews had nine tackles; Brady Eichelberger had six tackles; Easton Cook, Welke and Heiss each had four tackles; Kohl had two tackles; Drake Brandt and Braxen Eichelberger each had one tackle each.

The Eagles are now 8-0 and will face Columbus Lakeview on Friday at home for their final regular season game.
