The OHS volleyball team has been on a roll this season, but last Thursday, they were pitted against Guardian Angels Central Catholic, with whom they have a bit of history. It would have been the 2019-2020 season, the last time the Eagles came out victorious. Both teams offered an explosive opening, but GACC pulled ahead 25-23. From there, the visitors kept a consistent pace, outplaying the Eagles at every turn. The home team fought back, but never managed to break through. Though there were a few close calls, the Bluejays were always one step ahead. They took the game 3-0; 25-23, 25-25, and 25-17. Mariah Kallhoff led the charge with 10 kills, two ace serves, seven digs and two set assists; Bergyn Classen was right there with her with 10 kills, one block, five digs and two set assists; Taylor Young had nine kills, three blocks, four digs and one set assist; Blakely Sudbeck had five kills and one dig; Autumn Jackson had two kills and one block; Hannah Hilker had one kill, two blocks, 14 digs and 25 set assists; Hailey Fick had one ace serve and eight digs; Serena Chavez had five digs and two set assists; and Madelynn Kellum had five digs.
