Eagles Fall To Broken Bow 32-14

O'Neill's Michael Mcallister gets tripped up by two Broken Bow defenders in action last Friday in O'Neill.

The O'Neill Eagles' troubles continued into this week's play with a 32-14 loss to the Broken Bow Indians at home. The Eagles' offense was limited to 71 yards on the ground battling against a solid front line for the Indians. The passing game fell short as well, with 14 catches for 146 yards for the Eagles. The Eagles ran 58 plays for ten first downs and had three penalties for 20 yards. The Indians ran 52 plays for 13 first downs and had four penalties for 25 yards. Quarterback Landon Classen threw 26 times for 13 completions and Brady Eichelberger threw twice for one completion. Classen had 11 carries for 33 yards and scored twice for the Eagles. Classen ran in a 58 yard touchdown in the second quarter and was denied the two-point conversion. His second touchdown was a two-yard run and Classen hit Walker Peter for the two-point conversion. Fabian Acevedo had ten carries for 17 yards, Pryor Mathews one carry for 15 yards, Clay Shaw two carries for 15 yards and Karter Reed one carry for one yard. Shaw led the Eagle receivers with three catches for 41 yards, Drew Morrow three catches for 31 yards, Ryder Pokorny two catches for 31 yards, Acevedo three catches for 20 yards, Hunter Wilson one catch for 13 yards, Sean Coventry one catch for eight yards and Peter one catch for two yards. Salvador Rodriguez led the Eagles defense with 11 tackles, Levi Drueke, eight tackles, Classen seven tackles, Coventry and Holden Jenkins five tackles each, Pokorny, Korbyn Greiner and Colton Osborne four tackles each, Shaw three tackles, Acevedo two tackles and Josue Jimenez one tackle. O'Neill drops to 1-4 on the loss and will travel to Pierce to face the number one seated Blue Jays, who fell to the number three Boone Central Cardinals last week.
