The O'Neill Eagles boys basketball team started the year off strong with a solid win last week. They faced off against the Valentine Badgers on Thursday, Dec. 1, winning 75-33. The first two quarters went easily to the Eagles, winning by a whole 43 points by the time the third started. Quarter three was close, and by Quarter four the Badgers started to get into the groove, but it was already too late. The Eagles took the victory, winning in a landslide by 42 points. Landon Classen leads the year's first game with 26 points, shooting five of seven in three-pointers for 71 percent and four of five in two-pointers for 80 percent, as well as six rebounds; Drew Morrow 19 points and two rebounds; Kyler Dean eight points and one rebound; Ryder Pokorny six points and six rebounds; Turner Heiss five points and Tyler Diediker and Colton Osborne both four points and one rebound each; Westen Kohl two points; Trevor Alder one point; and Grant Dusatko one rebound.
