Carmichael, CA — Dr. Dixie Darlene Shaw Aller, 75, of Carmichael, CA, formerly of O'Neill, died peacefully on Thursday, April 18, 2024, in Carmichael, CA. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation. Dr. Dixie Darlene Shaw Aller, beloved wife, mother and grandmother was born in O'Neill on Feb. 24, 1949. Dixie was known for her vibrant personality, extremely high intelligence and deep love for her family. Dixie was known for her love of education and encouraged anyone to follow their passions. Dixie was a graduate of O'Neill High School, Class of 1967. Dixie's dedication to education and zeal for medicine lead her to study nursing at Hastings College. After 15 years as a registered nurse, Dixie continued her education at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Pharmacy. She would practice as a pharmacist for 33 years. She had a knack for helping others navigate the medical and health care arenas, guiding them to better understand how to care for themselves. Dixie's life was a testament to resilience and strength. She faced cancer with grace and determination, always emerging stronger and more compassionate. Her infectious laughter and warm smile brought joy to everyone around her, creating lasting memories cherished by all who knew her. A dedicated wife to Ronald Dean Aller for 19 years, with whom she had, as she would tell anyone, her greatest accomplishments, her two children. She was a nurturing mother to her children Heather and Eric, instilling in them values of integrity, hard work and dedication. As a grandmother, Dixie showered her grandchildren Abigail, Brooke, Merick, Gavin and Giana with love and affection. Dixie had a passion for sailing and traveling. She got her sailing license which included sailing on the ocean. She had always wanted to live on a boat, but it would have taken her away from her kids, and so she enjoyed her sailing on the weekends. In her memory, Dixie leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and strength. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Dixie Darlene Shaw Aller's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love and memories she created during her remarkable life. Dixie is survived by her two children Heather (James) Aller-Stamps and Eric Aller (Erica Labson); five grandchildren Abigail Aller, Brooke Stamps, Merick Stamps, Giana Gaddi and Gavin Gaddi, all of Carmichael, CA; one brother Marty (Colette) Shaw of Page; one brother-in-law Ted Parks of Fremont; and four nieces and nephews Michelle (Gary Parks) of Omaha, Jay Matt (Jennifer) Shaw of O'Neill, Ryan (Chasi) Parks of Lincoln and Stacy Shaw-Rose of Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was preceeded in death by her parents Merlin and Ruby (Butterfield) Shaw, her beloved sister Dorothy Parks, her husband Ronald Dean Aller and beloved mother-in-law Martha Kenyon.
