Donna M. Hubbard, age 84, of Chambers, passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at Seward.

Visitation was held on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, from 5-8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.,  at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the Chambers United Methodist Church in Chambers with Pastor Duane Waddle officiating.  Music was provided by organist Jean Hoffman  and congregational singing.

Pallbearers were Jason Durre, Justin Durre, Joe Brauneis, Tim Wardell, Brian Hubel and Mike Hubel.

Burial was in the Chambers Cemetery in Chambers.

Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill was in charge of arrangements.

Donna Mae Shavlik was born on Sept. 15, 1928, near Bliss to Stephen and Jennie (Gunter) Shavlik. She attended country school near Goose Lake before graduating from Ewing High School in 1946.

She attended Lincoln School of Commerce and worked as a dental assistant for Dr. C.M. Eason until she married Edwin "Hub" Hubbard. They were married on March 30, 1948, at the United Methodist Church in Chambers.

After marriage Donna became a housewife and also worked as a janitor at the Methodist Church for many years. Edwin passed away on Sept. 3, 1991.

Donna was a member of the United Methodist Church in Chambers and The Mourning Star Circle. She was also a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary Post #320 in Chambers and various other clubs and organizations. Donna was very active in the Chambers community.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Sharon Durre and husband, Bob of Seward and Rick Hubbard and wife, Kay of Norfolk; five grandchildren: Ashley Wardell, Jennifer Brauneis, Jason Durre and Justin Durre, all of Seward and Amy Rutland of Norfolk; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, E'Lonna Gesch of Seward and Pam Hubel and husband, Bill of Ewingl; one brother, Myron Shavlik and wife, Marge of Riverton, WY; and several nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Memorials may be made to the Chambers United Methodist Church.
