Delores Sedivy

Delores Sedivy, age 75, of Redbird, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2011, at the Niobrara Valley Hospital in Lynch.

Visitation was held Monday, June 20, 2011, from 6-9 p.m. at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at the First Presbyterian Church in O'Neill. Rev. Joel Wentworth officiated. Music was provided by organist Laura Hacker and soloist Claude Cole.

Biglin's Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Burial was in the Scottville Cemetery notheast of O'Neill. .

Pallbearers were Andrew Schumacher, Steve Schumacher, Daniel Schumacher, Joey Schumacher, Tommy Schumacher and Michael Schumacher.

Honorary Pallbearers were Carolyn Gall, Sarah Sedivy, Ben Sedivy, Keegan Schumacher and Charlotte Schumacher.

Delores was born August 13, 1935, at Redbird to Leon and Edna (Hull) Mellor. She graduated from Lynch High School in 1953 and then attended Wayne State College. She was an elementary school teacher. Delores married Eldon Sedivy on August 10, 1963, at O’Neill, and he passed away May 16, 2008.

She was a member of the Holt County Card Club, the Scottville Community Club, the O’Neill First Presbyterian Church and the Dorsey Community Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Schumacher and husband Pat of Ainsworth; two sons, Terry Sedivy and wife Kim of Omaha and Scott Sedivy of Lynch; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Opal Halstead of Lynch, Ardis Bjornsen of Sioux City, Iowa and Betty Loock of Springfield, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Dale; one daughter-Carolyn; and one sister in infancy.
