Lincoln — Delbert "Del" Ray Rouse, 92, of Lincoln, formerly of O'Neill, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025 at his home in Lincoln.

Visitation was held on Monday, Sept. 8, 2025 at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill with a prayer service.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025 at the Assembly of God Church in O'Neill. Revs. Mike Durre and Lee Warriner officiated.

There was a private family burial.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Delbert was born Feb. 11, 1933 in O'Neill to Howard and Addie (Hubby) Rouse. He grew up on the family farm north of O'Neill. The farm was homesteaded in 1879 by his grandfather. A family member has been living there ever since.

Del enlisted into the United States Air Force in March of 1953. After basic training in San Antonio and then more training in Amarillo, he was transferred to Columbus, Ohio. Del was a jet mechanic on B 47's. He was honorably discharged in March of 1957 after being promoted to Staff Sgt. Returning to the ranch he began helping his brother and dad in the farming and ranching business. Del also had a tractor salvage business for over 50 years.

Del met Lois Perry while stationed in Ohio. They were married on Dec. 1, 1956. To this union three children were born Ronald, Darryl and Ralene.

Del was elected on the school board, church board, cemetery board,and township board.

Del is survived by his wife of 68 years Lois Rouse; three children Ronald (Jennifer) Rouse, Darryl (Tracey) Rouse and Ralene (James) Klostermeyer; eight grandchildren Leslie (Jared) Evert, Aaron Rouse, Nicholas (Stephanie) Rouse, Nathaniel (Bethany) Rouse, Jackson (Kara) Rouse and Amber (Zach) Jensen, all of Lincoln, Thomas (Brittni) Klostermeyer of Gretna and Sarah (Scott) Olson of Omaha; nine great-grandchildren Addison Evert, Landon Evert, Colin Rouse, Parker Rouse, Everett Rouse, Ada Rouse and Della Jensen, all of Lincoln, Emma Klostermeyer and James Klostermeyer, both of Gretna; and one sister-in-law Joan Perry of Fairfax, VA.

He was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Addie Rouse, parents-in-law Bert and Delia Perry, two brothers Lawrence (Celia) Rouse and Lloyd Rouse and two brothers-in-law Joe Perry and Wayne (Yvonne) Chelette.
