Darlene David, age 77, of Burwell, formerly of Chambers and O'Neill, passed away early Saturday morning, Nov. 24, 2012, at her home in Burwell.
Visitation was held Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, from 5-8 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Chambers with Pastor Duane Waddle officiating. Music was provided by pianist, Ferne Briggs and musicians, George and Steffan Baker.
Pallbearers were Terry O'Banion, Kathleen Bitney, Jason Bourquin, Rick Rowse, Alan Rowse and Phillip Rowse.
Burial was in the Chambers Cemetery in Chambers.
Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill was in charge of arrangements.
Darlene Violet Vollbrecht was born on April 15, 1935, in Battle Creek, to Bruno and Viola (Tichota) Vollbrecht. She graduated from Neligh High School.
She me Lyle Elmer David and they were married on Sept. 26, 1954, in Oakdale.
Darlene was a loving mother, homemaker and housewife. She worked at McIntosh Jewelry and also at the Neligh Courthouse.
She loved to crochet, paint pictures and water ski with her two sisters-in-law, Delores and Doris.
Darlene is survived by her husband, Lyle of Burwell; three sons, Billy David of Burwell, Tim David and wife, Mary of Norfolk and Terry David and wife, Jayne of Bassett; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one brother, Mike Vollbrecht and wife, Mary of Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
