Daisy Mary Wilkinson, age 80, of Atkinson, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the West Holt Memorial Hospital in Atkinson.

Visitation was held on Monday, March 11, 2013, from 3-8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary, at the Seger Funeral Home in Atkinson.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Atkinson with Father Luke Steffes officiating. Music was provided by organist, Terri Vrooman and soloist, Bonnie Krysl.

Pallbearers were Gary, Greg, Jeff, Rick and Rollie Hamik, Kevin Wilkinson, Guy Tielke and Tim Tielke.

Burial was in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Atkinson.

Seger Funeral Home in Atkinson was in charge of arrangements.

Daisy was born on April 11, 1932, in Stuart, to John and Louise (Wewel) Hamik. She attended school in the Stuart area.

In 1949 she went to work at the hospital in Bassett and worked there until her retirement in 1997 after 48 years. Daisy married LeRoy Wilkinson on Nov. 4, 1950, they separated in 1986 and LeRoy passed away in 1991.

She was a great cook and enjoyed fishing in the area farm ponds and going to the hill with her casino buddies. She loved playing cards, dominos and especially arm wrestling and beating her nephews.

In 2003 Daisy was diagnosed with scleroderma and progressive pulmonary hypertension. In 2005 she moved to Elkhorn Meadows in Atkinson to be close to family.

Daisy is survived by three brothers: Ray Hamik of O'Neill, Max Hamik of Atkinson and Charles Hamik and wife, Betty of O'Neill; three sisters: Edith Tielke and husband Jack of Stuart, Sister Terese Louise Hamik of Milwaukee, WI, and Sister Loraine Hamik of Greenfield, WI; a brother-in-law, Floyd (Pal) Wilkinson and his wife Peggy of Lincoln; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband  LeRoy; two brothers and their wives, Leo and Betty Hamik and Bernard and Margory Hamik and two sisters-in-law, Agnes Hamik and Rita Hamik.
