Connie L. Read

Connie L. Read, age 61, of O'Neill, passed away Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, in O'Neill.

A gathering of friends was held Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, from 4-6 p.m., with a 6 p.m. prayer service,  at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill, Randy Schmeichel officiated.

Inurnment was in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill was in charge of arrangements.

Connie was born on May 17, 1951, in O'Neill to Roy and Gladys (Abbott) Plessel. She graduated from O'Neill Public High School. 

She met Dennis Lee Read and they were married on Sept. 11, 1973, in O'Neill. Connie worked for many years at the Golden LivingCenter in O'Neill, and retired in 2005.

Connie enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and family. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading romance novels and watching crime solving dramas.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis "Butch" Read; two sons, Chris Read and wife, Lori of Seward and Shawn Read and wife, Paulette of O'Neill; five grandchildren; and two brothers, Kenneth Plessel and wife, Patty of O'Neill and Gary Plessel and wife, Judy of Oregan.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Johnny, Stanley and Franklin Plessel; four sisters, Evelyn Oberg, Bonnie Plessel, Marilyn Howard and Mary Grunke.
