OF EDUCATION

REORGANIZATION 

BOARD MEETING

A meeting of the Board of Education of Chambers Public Schools was convened in open and public session on January 19, 2026, in Room 1 at Chambers Public Schools, 201 S. A Street, Chambers, Nebraska. The roll was called, and the following Board members were present: Terry Kamphaus, Jamie Tomjack, Monte Metschke, Amy Scott, Brady Dexter, and Jon Sladek. Also present was Frank Jesse, Superintendent.

Notice of the meeting was given in advance by publication on the Chambers Public School's website on January 12, 2026, and thereafter in the Holt County Independent and Sandhills Ties on January 14, 2026. Notice of this meeting was given in advance to all members of the Board of Education. Availability of the agenda was communicated in the publicized notice and a current copy of the agenda was maintained as stated in the publicized notice. All proceedings of the Board of Education, except as may be hereinafter noted, were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public. 

The meeting was called to order by President Terry Kamphaus at 6:00pm.

Announcement of Open 

Meetings Act Posting

At the beginning of this meeting, the Chair announced and informed the public that a current copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted on the west wall of Room 1.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Motion by Monte Metschke, seconded by Brady Dexter, to approve the agenda. Motion carried, 6-0. Aye: Dexter, Kamphaus, Metschke, Scott, Sladek, Tomjack. Nay: 0.

Board of Education 

Reorganization

A. Election of officers of the Board of Education

Nomination of President:

Brady Dexter nominated Jamie Tomjack for President.

Motion by Amy Scott, seconded by Monte Metschke that all nominations cease. Motion carried, 6-0. Aye: Dexter, Kamphaus, Metschke, Scott, Sladek, Tomjack. Nay: 0.

Jamie Tomjack was elected President.

Nomination for Vice-President:

Monte Metschke nominated Terry Kamphaus for Vice-President.

Motion by Amy Scott, seconded by Terry Kamphaus that all nominations cease. Motion carried, 6-0. Aye: Dexter, Kamphaus, Metschke, Scott, Sladek, Tomjack. Nay: 0.

Terry Kamphaus was elected Vice-President.

Nomination for Treasurer:

Brady Dexter nominated Monte Metschke for Treasurer.

Motion by Terry Kamphaus, seconded by Amy Scott, that all nominations cease. Motion carried, 6-0. Aye: Dexter, Kamphaus, Metschke, Scott, Sladek, Tomjack. Nay: 0.

Monte Metschke was elected Treasurer.

Nomination for Secretary:

Jon Sladek nominated Amy Scott for Secretary.

Motion by Terry Kamphaus, seconded by Brady Dexter, that all nominations cease. Motion carried, 6-0. Aye: Dexter, Kamphaus, Metschke, Scott, Sladek, Tomjack. Nay: 0.

Amy Scott was elected Secretary.

B. President Jamie Tomjack will appoint members to committees during February 16, 2026 meeting.

C. Motion by Amy Scott, seconded by Terry Kamphaus to appoint The Sandhills Ties, Holt County Independent and Chambers Public School website as the official publishers for the School District. Motion carried, 6-0. Aye: Dexter, Kamphaus, Metschke, Scott, Sladek, Tomjack. Nay: 0.

Motion by Amy Scott, seconded by Terry Kamphaus to appoint Lammers, Abel & Kaps, LLC as the official auditors for the School District. Motion carried, 6-0. Aye: Dexter, Kamphaus, Metschke, Scott, Sladek, Tomjack. Nay: 0.

Motion by Terry Kamphaus, seconded by Brady Dexter to appoint KSB Law as the official law firm for legal advice for the School District. Motion carried, 6-0. Aye: Dexter, Kamphaus, Metschke, Scott, Sladek, Tomjack. Nay: 0.

Motion by Jon Sladek, seconded by Monte Metschke to appoint Chambers State Bank as the official Financial Agency for the School District. Motion carried, 6-0. Aye: Dexter, Kamphaus, Metschke, Scott, Sladek, Tomjack. Nay: 0.

D. Motion by Amy Scott, seconded by Terry Kamphaus to approve current Board policies and regulations. Motion carried, 6-0. Aye: Dexter, Kamphaus, Metschke, Scott, Sladek, Tomjack. Nay: 0.

E. Motion by Brady Dexter, seconded by Jon Sladek to designate annual review of Board of Education policies in September of each year. Motion carried, 6-0. Aye: Dexter, Kamphaus, Metschke, Scott, Sladek, Tomjack. Nay: 0.

F. Reviewed Board Member Conflict of Interest.

Adjournment

Motion was made by Monte Metschke, seconded by Jon Sladek, to adjourn the meeting at 6:17pm on January 19, 2026. Motion carried, 6-0. Aye: Dexter, Kamphaus, Metschke, Scott, Sladek, Tomjack. Nay: 0. The meeting was duly adjourned.
