Carolyn Louise Kubik, age 71, of Stuart, passed away, Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at the West Holt Memorial Hospital in Atkinson from a lengthy illness.
Carolyn chose to be cremated and the family met guests from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at the same location.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at the Seger Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Wayne Owens officiating. Music was provided by organist, Deb Kaup and soloist, Bonnie Krysl.
Seger Funeral Home in Atkinson was in charge of arrangements.
Carolyn was born in Lone Pine, CA, on June 2, 1940, to John and Blanche (Spear) DeNault, Sr.
She lived in Bishop, CA, and married Joseph (Joe) William Kubik on June 19, 1959, in Carson City, NV. To this union six children were born. The family moved to Stuart in 1976 and made Stuart their home.
Carolyn enjoyed fishing, playing and coaching softball. She did a lot of crocheting and knitting, making many afghans for family and friends. Many in the community would call her "Mom," as she was known by many to be very motherly, helping people in need and giving advice when needed. She enjoyed being a part of the stock car committee for many years and helping it become very successful. She was also a Legion Auxiliary member.
Carolyn is survived by her children and their spouses: Fred and Janet (Timmerman) Kubik, Mary (Kubik) Engelhaupt, Dale and Margaret (Timmerman) Kubik, Bill and Carrie (Kubik) Engelhaupt, and George Kubik; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two brothers and their spouses: John and Betty DeNault Jr. of Ventura, CA, and Bill and Michelle DeNault of Bishop, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Blanche DeNault and her son, Joseph John Kubik. |
