Always-spirited, the game started as a good match with the Broncos keeping toe-to-toe with the fast-paced offense of the Cards, only trailing by four at the end of the first. The Cards then turned the heat up in the second quarter and never looked back leading 36-23 at the half. The second half saw the Cards broaden their lead, putting up another 42 points while the Broncos tallied up only 19 in the 78-42 Cardinal win. Stuart Bronco Head Coach John Miller remarked, "St. Mary's was running on all cylinders, and it seemed like they never missed a shot. They are a solid team and there is not a lot of margin of error against them. We played hard until the end and did some good things execution-wise, but they hit 11 three's and we struggled to rebound against them. We will learn and continue to work to get better." For St. Mary's, Hedstrom dominated the match putting up 27 points hitting nine of 17 for 53 percent in the two-point range and six of six from the charity stripe.
