The O'Neill Eagles are wrapping up play on the home games this year. This week against the Boone Central Cardinals, losing 55-0. The Eagles will travel to West Point this Friday to take on the 2-5 Cadets and will host Wayne on Oct. 20 to wrap up the season. The Eagles could not keep up with the 6-1 Cards, whose only loss was to Aurora earlier in the season. To make matters worse, the Eagles were without their starting quarterback Landon Classen. The Eagles had only 28 total yards compared to the Card's 302. The Cardinals had seven pass completions for 134 yards and one touchdown; the Eagles tried three players at the position with Turner Heiss throwing one pass for 10 yards. Leading rushers for the Eagles were Porter Mathews with six carries for 26 yards and Grady Welke with four carries for 20 yards. Ian Yates led the Eagles in receptions with one catch for 10 yards, Ryder Pokorny for one yard and Pryor Mathews with one catch for one yard. Leading the Eagle defense was Porter Mathews with six tackles, Pryor Mathews and Salvador Rodriguez with five each, Pokorny, Alex Molina, Clay Shaw and Walker Peter with two tackles each, Turner Heiss, Easton Cook, Reese Grosch, Tucker Shabram, Maddox Hamerlun and Brody Jakubowski all with one tackle each.
