After a week away from the court, the SMH Cardinals were back last week to wreak more havoc. They had one final game to play before Subdistricts this week and they made quick work out of a tough 21-1 EPPJ team. They played last Friday, Feb. 20, in their own domain, with EPPJ visiting. The Cards' offensive and defensive capabilities were on point, rarely letting the Wolfpack score against them. When the buzzer rang out, the Cardinals were standing victorious once again 77-34. This was only EPPJ's second loss suffered this season, with their first being at the start of the month against the same Cardinal team. Ben Barlow was the MVP with 19 points, scoring half of the six three-pointers attempted for 50 percent and five of six two-pointers for 83 percent, as well as two rebounds and one steal; Logan Brabec right behind with 17 points and two rebounds; Gage Hedstrom had 15 points, seven rebounds and one steal; Lane Bybee had eight points, three rebounds and one steal; Eli Banks had five points and seven rebounds; Max Berg had five points, one rebound and one steal; Memphis Brabec had five points and one steal; Drake Berg had two points, three rebounds and one steal; Connor Banks had one point, one rebound and one steal; James Eby had one rebound and one steal; and Xzavier Parks and Brayden Krugman both had one rebound each.
