After over one week away from the court, the St. Mary's Cardinals made their grand return last Friday, Jan. 9, against Ainsworth. And what a return they made. Right from the get-go, it was clear who was in charge. The Bulldogs were dropped 21-7 in the beginning. The opponent started to catch up in the second quarter, but they couldn't quite manage to reach the Cardinals. A huge play from the Cards left the Bulldogs broken when they pulled ahead 27-2 in the third. With nothing left to do, Ainsworth was forced to hand the crown to the Cardinals. Ben Barlow had a big night with 17 points, shooting eight of 10 two-pointers for 80%, as well as nine rebounds and seven steals; Logan Brabec had 15 points and eight rebounds; Lane Bybee also with 15 points, six rebounds and two steals; Xzavier Parks had six points and two rebounds; Eli Banks had five points, 13 rebounds and one steal; Drake Berg had five points and one steal; Max Berg had four points; Ruger Kraft had three points; Memphis Brabec had two points and one rebound; James Eby had five rebounds; and John Mlnarik had one rebound.
