The Stuart Bronco Football team traveled to Sumner for the championship rematch from last season with the SEM Mustangs. The Broncos and Mustangs split their games last season with SEM winning the regular season game 36-33 and the Broncos winning 42-38. The game started out as advertised with it being 0-0 after the first quarter. The Mustangs opened up the scoring late in the second quarter but the Broncos blocked the PAT. It was 6-0 Mustangs. In the final minutes of the second quarter, the Broncos scored a screen pass from Kayde Ramm to Drew Schmaderer for a 44 yard touchdown. Lane Boelter made the PAT and went to half with a 8-6 lead. To open the second half, the Broncos put together a perfect drive. Lasting over 7 minutes, and it ended with Zane Doke catching a 4 yard pass from Ramm. Boelter hit Schmaderer for the 1 point conversion. The defense really stepped up for the Broncos in the second half. The Broncos did not give up a single point in the second half. Owen Littau took over in the second half scoring two touchdowns. One was a 27 yard run and the other was a 50 yard fumble recovery. Littau finished the game with 161 yards and 1 touchdown and 7 tackles on defense. Ramm rushed for 42 yards and threw for 73 yards. Had 2 passing touchdowns. Tommy Paxton had 2 catches for 16 yards and Schmaderer ended with 4 catches for 55 yards. Cameron Kaup was a big part of the success on offense with his leadership on the offensive line. Atwood Albrecht and Littau led the defense with 7 tackles. Schmaderer and Nigel Addison each had 6 tackles. Schmaderer also had an interception. Ramm finished with 5 tackles. The Broncos will host the 2-0 Silver Lake Mustangs at Stuart Park Friday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
