Brenda Prill

Atkinson — Brenda Faye Prill,  82, of Atkinson, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022 at Parkside Manor in Stuart.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2022 at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.

A celebration of life service will be at 7 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2022 at the mortuary in O'Neill. Pastor Dennis Quigley will officiate.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the Page Cemetery in Page.

Memorials may be made to the Norfolk Rescue Mission, The Salvation Army or Shoe Box Ministry in Brenda's name.

Brenda Beelaert was born June 4, 1939 at her parent's home east of Page. At the age of two, the family moved southeast of Page. Brenda's siblings were Bob and Becky.

Brenda attended Page Grade and High School and graduated in 1956 at the age of 16. She attended summer classes at Wayne State College and taught at the Steel Creek School that fall. The school was 17 miles from the nearest town, she was 17 years old and had 17 students. 

The following three years, Brenda taught District 23 rural school and had 23 students in all nine grades.  

At that time, she began dating the love of her life Robert Prill. They were married May 24, 1959. Their first home was northwest of Page.  

Brenda taught at Cream Ridge School in 1961.

In 1963, Bob and Brenda purchased a farm southeast of Stuart and resided there for 50 years. The Lord blessed them with five children Scott Robert, Shane Jay, Shelley Faye, Samuel Harry and Amy Lee.

Their family worked together and were active in church, 4-H and High School Rodeos. 

In 2006, Bob and Brenda celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Amy planned a gala event which made for special memories with family and dear friends.

In 2013, Bob and Brenda sold their farm and moved to Atkinson. 

Brenda enjoyed several hobbies: calligraphy, scrapbooking and baking. She sold Tupperware products for 50 years and her greatest reward was all the special friends she made.

Brenda loved the Lord and dedicated her life to Him at an early age. She enjoyed teaching Bible School and Sunday School. The first Operation Christmas Child boxes in the area were packed by her class and is a continued project at the Faith Wesleyan Church still today. 

In 1993, Brenda was one of the ladies who assisted in forming the Sandhills Outreach Ministry. This ministry has touched countless lives for years.

 Brenda will be remembered for her faithful love to her husband, family and friends, the countless times she remembered many with cards and notes, her hospitality, compassion and love for the elderly and her Sunday School students.

Brenda is survived by her five children Scott Prill of Arlington, Texas, Shane (Kianne) Prill of Wichita, KS, Shelley (Clarence) Boden of Salina, KS, Sam (Gaila) Prill of Rapid City, SD and Amy Prill of Houston, Texas; along with 11 grandchildren Josh (Jackie) Boden, Jerod Boden, Justin Boden, Joel Boden, Lianna Austin, Mariclaire Prill, Merrilee Prill, Lauren Prill, Luke Prill, Gabrielle Prill and Winston Prill; one great-grandson, Austin Boden; one brother Bob Beelaert; one sister Becky Schelm; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert and parents Frank and Donna (Harper) Beelaert.
