Atkinson — Bonnie Lou Jungman, 96, of Atkinson, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024 at the West Holt Memorial Hospital in Atkinson surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation was held Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024 at the Atkinson Methodist Church in Atkinson.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024 at the church in Atkinson. Pastor Bob Wynn officiated. Music was provided by singer Bonnie Krysl and organist Terri Vrooman.

Pallbearers were Steven and Mark Keogh, Shawn and Kyle Fetherston, Brad and Brnet Jungman and Jonathan Leymaster.

Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Atkinson.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation. 

Seger Funeral Home in Atkinson was in charge of the arrangements.

Bonnie was born July 29, 1928, in Atkinson to Lewis and Lula (Murry) Humphrey, the oldest of six children.

She graduated from Atkinson High School in 1946. Following graduation, she worked as a switchboard operator and at the First National Bank in Atkinson. 

On Sept. 10, 1951, she married Jay Jungman at the Methodist Church in Atkinson. They were the parents of two children Jayne and Roger.

Bonnie was a life-long member of the Methodist church where she was honored for her 50 years as the church organist. She was also a Sunday school teacher for many years, as well as a member of PEO Chapter BU for over 50 years.

Bonnie is survived by her two children Jayne (Bob) Fetherston and Roger (Gayle) Jungman, all of Atkinson; seven grandchildren Mark Keogh of Atkinson, Steven Keogh of Columbus, Shawn (Dani) Fetherston and Kyle (Mackenzie) Fetherston, all of Atkinson, Brad (Lacy) Jungman of Papillion, Kristina (Jonathan) Leymaster of Gretna and Brent Jungman (fiancé Jamie Sundvall) of Atkinson; nine great-grandchildren Barron, Roderic, Ledger and Macklin Jungman, Hudson, Harrison, Holden and Houston Leymaster and Brooks Fetherston; four sisters Betty Gotschall and Jean Fleming, both of Atkinson, JoAnn Small of Kearney and Donna (Dale) Doolittle of Amelia; and one brother Duane (DeMaris) Humphrey of Fremont. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Jay in August of 2021, her parents, one son-in-law Larry Keogh, one grandson Matthew Keogh and three brothers-in-law Dean Gotschall, Dean Fleming and Kenneth Small.
