York — Bonnie J. Berner, 98, of York, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024 in York.

Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024 at Metz Mortuary in York with the family greeting friend s from 6-7:70 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, 2024 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York.

Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in York.

Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or Emmanuel Lutheran School, both in York, in Bonnie's name.

Bonnie was born on March 2, 1926 to Morris L. and Mabel M. (Johnson) Harmon in Ansley.  

She was united in marriage on Sept. 7, 1952 to Roy W. Berner in O'Neill. 

She was a long-time member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York and a member of Chapter A, P.E.O. She had belonged to the York Garden Club, several bridge clubs and held a position on the York General Hospital Board of Directors. 

Bonnie enjoyed stained glass, china painting and sewing. 

Bonnie is survived by her daughter Suzie (John) Ellis of York, one granddaughter Annie (Fidel) Matos, and one great-granddaughter Lucy Matos, all of Lincoln, one brother Raymond (Janice) Harmon, one sister Lois Vorce, all of O'Neill, and nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers Wayne (Donna) Harmon and Donald (Ann) Harmon, one brother-in-law Alvin Vorce, one sister-in-law Muriel (Lloyd) Seger, one nephew Gary Harmon and one niece Rhonda Harmon.
