Betty M. Sextro

Betty M. Sextro, age 72, of Butte, passed away Thursday,  April 4, 2013, at the Butte Healthcare Center in Butte.

Visitation was held from 4-7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. wake service, on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Butte.

A Mass of Christian burial was held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, April 8, 2013, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Butte with Reverend Tim Podraza as celebrant.

Burial was in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Butte.

Brockhaus Funeral Home in Spencer was in charge of arrangements.

Betty Marie Dion, daughter of Frank and Lucille (Steviks) Dion, was born on Aug. 7, 1940, in Wagner, SD. She attended school in Bonesteel, SD. On Aug. 5, 1961, she was married to David Sextro in Burke, SD. The couple was blessed with four children: Douglas, Donald, Dean and Dustin.

She lived her life in Butte where she was a homemaker and raised her family. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish of Boyd County and its CCW.

Betty is survived by her husband David Sextro of Butte; three children, Douglas (Linda) Sextro of Butte, Donald (Hollie) Sextro of Hartington and Dean (Marcie) Sextro of Madison and a sister, Mary Fahrenbacher of Burke, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lucille Dion; step-father Reinhold Fuhrman and a son, Dustin Sextro.
