Bessie L. Wecker

Bessie Luretta Wecker, 77, of O'Neill, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2023 at Arbor Care Center in ONeill.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the mortuary in O'Neill.

Burial will be in the O'Neill Cemetery in O'Neill.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Bessie was born in O'Neill on Aug. 12, 1945 to George and Bertha (Garhart) Timmerman. She attended O'Neill Public Schools.  

She married Garry L. Wecker in Neligh on Aug. 10, 1967.  They made their home in O'Neill. 

Bessie worked at Seger's Café, La Fortune Café, Townhouse Steakhouse, Fireside Restaurant and Westside Restaurant. She also worked at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital in the housekeeping department for over 15 years before retiring in 2015.

Bessie enjoyed spending time with grandkids, driving around town, tent camping, watching westerns and listening to old country music. 

Bessie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Bessie is survived by her five children Maria (Jim) Roeder of O'Neill, Joyce (Darrel) Saxton of Black Foot, Idaho, Sandra (Dale) Zwingman and Luretta (Pablo) Alarcon, all of O'Neill, and Garry (Danielle) Wecker of Castle Rock, CO; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister Pearl Taylor of Geneva; and her dog Skippy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Garry in 2020 and one son Delbert Ferris.
