Bartlett — Marilyn Kay Booth, 77, of Bartlett, died Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Good Samaritan Society in Bloomfield. Visitation was held Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chambers with a prayer service. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at the church in Chambers Burial was in the Pibel Cemetery in Ericson. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation. Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill was in charge of the arrangements. Marilyn was born on July 18, 1948, in Albion to John and Helen (Rieck) Buhlmann. She grew up on a ranch north of Bartlett and attended Bartlett High School, graduating with the Class of 1966. Following high school, she continued her education in Kearney and Wayne, earning a degree as a legal secretary. On Nov. 22, 1969, Marilyn was united in marriage to Terry Booth at St. Paul Lutheran Church. To this union one daughter Rhea was born. Marilyn began her career in O'Neill, working as a legal secretary in the law office for J.D. Cronin and Ed Hannan and later in the law office of Dutch Gay. She was a very diligent worker who was known for her immaculate penmanship and her love for typing. Marilyn also worked for Nichols and Gillum Insurance Company in Bartlett before concluding her career working part-time for Farmers National Company and Peetz Law Office in O'Neill. Marilyn was a devoted member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bartlett and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chambers. She was active in the Garden Club in Bartlett and a bowling league in Spalding. While Marilyn worked in O'Neill, her heart was always on the ranch. She enjoyed being outdoors, especially mowing in the hay fields after work and on weekends. Marilyn had a love of dancing, traveling and spending time with relatives and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 57 years Terry Booth of Bartlett, one daughter Rhea Booth of Crofton, one nephew Dean Buhlman of Omaha, one sister-in-law Jana (Gary) Kegley of Kearney and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Sunny Buhlmann.
