Oklahoma City, OK — Alice June Boyle, 88, of Oklahoma City, OK, formerly of O'Neill, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024 in Oklahoma City.

Memorial visitation will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill with a 7 p.m. Catholic Daughters rosary.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill. Fr. Bernard Starman will officiate.

Burial will be in the O'Neill Cemetery in O'Neill.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Alice was born on June 27, 1936 to Ralph and Anna (Swensen) Dunkelberger in Onida, SD. She grew up on a farm near Page and went to school at a county one room schoolhouse.

Alice married Edgar Boyle on Aug. 9, 1952 in Vermillion, SD. To this union three children were born Edgar J. Boyle Jr., Shirley Chmiel and Timothy Boyle.  

She devoted most of her hours as a secretary/ bookkeeper for her beloved husband's trucking company. She did this for 30 years. She then worked for North Star in O'Neill for 15 years. Alice was also a loving and devoted mother to her children.

  Alice was a dedicated member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and Catholic Daughters.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling and camping. She also enjoyed gardening, canning and baking. Alice was well known for her famous sweet corn and her amazing cinnamon rolls.

Alice is survived by her two children Shirley Chmiel of Oklahoma City, OK and Tim (Angela) Boyle of O'Neill, one daughter-in-law Mary Boyle of O'Neill, 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one sister Darlene Stritecky of Sioux Falls, SD and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edgar James Boyle Sr. in 2015, one son Edgar James Boyle Jr. in 2019 and two sisters Ester Hale and Edna Huckins.
