The Stuart Broncos hosted the number one team in the state last Friday afternoon at Stuart Park. The anticipation for this game did not disappoint as the game came down to the final play. The Mustangs got out fast and scored on the first drive, but it did not take long for the Broncos to respond as Kayde Ramm connected with Ben Paxton for a 62 yard touchdown pass. Back and forth action resulted in a 12-8 first quarter lead for the Mustangs. Kayde Ramm and Ben Paxton connected again for a touchdown in the second quarter to respond to SEM's touchdown and the score at half was 20-14 SEM. The Broncos got the ball at the start of the second half and drove down the field and scored. Again, the Ramm, Paxton connection happened and this time the Broncos took the lead 21-20. After a 3rd down stop, the Broncos got the ball stop and this time it was Ramm to Hunter Tubbs for the touchdown and the Broncos took a 27-20 lead in the 3rd quarter. The Broncos offense went stagnate for a couple drives and SEM capitalized and took a 36-27 lead in the 4th quarter. The Broncos did not quit as they scored with 33 seconds left in the game and gave themselves hope. Ramm connected with Tubbs again. The Broncos could not convert on the onside kick and SEM ran out the clock for a 36-33 victory. The Broncos hit the road this week and take on #8 Silver Lake. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
