The Eagle boys had a barn burner of a game on Friday evening, hosting the Boone Central Cardinals, and despite a 17-point deficit at the half, the Eagles pulled off a two-point win at the buzzer. The Cardinals appeared to be holding a height advantage on the Eagles, with a great deal of the roster over 6 feet. The Cardinals scored 34 points in the first half of play, while the Eagles were held to single digits in each quarter for 17 at the half. The third period was huge for the Eagles as they put up 20 points and held Boone Central to five. The Eagles brought their 17-point short, coming to within two going into the fourth. The Eagles just outscored the Cardinals in the second half for the two-point win. The Cardinals unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. Boone Central has yet to have much luck with O'Neill recently, as the Cardinals have come up short the last three times they've met. Drew Morrow led the Eagles with 29 points, shooting 47 percent in the two-point range and four rebounds. The contest was Morrow's tenth in a row with at least ten points; Turner Heiss was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds; Ryder Pokorny had three points, four rebounds, and two steals; Brady Eichelberger had two points, three rebounds, and one steal; Trevor Alder and Grant Dusatko also had two points in the Eagle win.
