All great things must come to end, and the Cardinals at St. Mary's were forced to face this fact when they visited Summerland last Tuesday, Dec. 19. They lost their solid six-win streak to the undefeated Summerland Bobcats. The opening quarter showed an early head-start from the Bobcats, pushing ahead by four points. Quarter two sunk the Cardinals in the trenches when they fell 22-8. This game was certainly in the Bobcats favor, but that wouldn't stop the Cards. They gave it their all in the third quarter, but the Bobcats still managed to edge them out, 17-14. The Cards made one last push to redeem the game, and they put forth a good effort. They stole the final quarter by six points, 19-16. This didn't do much to impact the final score, as the Bobcats still won 71-56. Ben Barlow was on top with 17 points, shooting eight of nine two-pointers for 89 percent. Barlow also had two rebounds and one steal; Gage Hedstrom just behind with 16 points, five rebounds and one steal; Logan Brabec 15 points, three rebounds and three steals; Eli Banks two points and five rebounds; Xzavier Parks, Max Berg and Risken Dawson all two points and one rebound; Carson Dannenbring four rebounds; and Sam Barlow one rebound.
