The St. Mary's boys basketball has been killing it this season, and last week was no exception. On Tuesday, Dec. 12 they hosted the Neligh-Oakdale Warriors and beat them 75-39. The Cardinals came out with a boom, taking an early 15-point lead. Quarter two saw the Cards push ahead by a casual four points. Now up 19 points, the Card's victory was all but assured. The Warriors put forth a good effort, but the Cardinals were too much. They took quarters three and four to win the match in a clean sweep. Gage Hedstrom scored highest with 18 points, shooting two of five three-pointers for 40 percent and five of 12 three-pointers for 42 percent. Hedstrom also had seven rebounds; Logan Brabec had 10 points, six rebounds and five steals; Ben Barlow eight points, eight rebounds and two steals; Carson Dannenbring seven points and five rebounds; Max Berg seven points, two rebounds and one steal; Risken Dawson sex points and six rebounds; Eli Banks five points and one rebound; James Eby five points; Xzavier Parks three points and one rebound; DrakeBerg three points; and Sam Barlow two rebounds. The Cards made an early statement, taking the first quarter 18-7. Another six points in the second put the Cards well above their competition to this point. Quarter three added to the Cardinals already substantial lead. The final quarter ended the match with another clean four quarter win for the Cardinals. Hedstrom beat his previous match with 19 points, shooting four of ten two-pointers for 40 percent. Hedstrom also had seven rebounds and three steals; Brabec 18 points, four rebounds and four steals; B. Barlow 13 points, four rebounds and seven steals; Dannenbring four points, four rebounds and three steals; M. Berg four points and three rebounds; D. Berg three points and one rebound; Banks and S.
