The O'Neill girls basketball team competed the same day as the boys team when they traveled to Valentine. The girls did not have the same success as the boys, however. They fell by a score of 41-32. The opening quarter wasn't the best start for the Eagles, trailing five points behind the Badger's 14. Quarters two and three showed the Eagles attempting a comeback, winning both by a couple points each. Now behind by just one point, turning this game around in the Eagle's favor didn't seem too unrealistic. The final quarter would prove to be the Eagles ultimate downfall, however, losing 12-4, and with it- the game. Presley Heiss put up 11 points, shooting two of three three-pointers for 67 percent and two of seven two-pointers for 29 percent. Heiss also had six rebounds and three steals. Lauryn Dusatko five points, three rebounds and one steal; Hannah Hilker five points, one rebound and one steal; Ashley Sidak four points, two rebounds and four steals; Autumn Hilker four points, two rebounds and two steals; Olivia Young three points, three rebounds and two steals; and Suhani Chaudhari one rebound.
