Broncos Advance To Quarter Finals

The Stuart Bronco football team traveled down to Bartley for the first round of the football playoffs last Friday night. The Broncos were the 9 seed and played the 8 seeded Southwestern Roughriders. It was a beautiful night for football in Bartley. 

The Broncos found themselves down after the first half but only allowed 1 touchdown in the second half and came home with the victory, 50-33. 

The Broncos offense was led by Kayde Ramm. The quartearback was 9/14 for 152 yards. Three of those completions were for touchdowns. Ramm also had big 38-yard rushing touchdown. Ramm's favorite target was Ben Paxton. Paxton had 3 catches for 98 yards and all his catches were touchdowns. Owen Littau had 3 catches for 30 yards. Simon Addison had 2 catches for 20 yards and Drew Schmaderer had 1 catch for 6 yards. 

The rushing attack was split amongst the two seniors, Simon Addison and Will Paxton. Addison had 7 carries for 40 yards and 1 touchdown and Paxton had 15 carries for 73 yards and 1 touchdown. Owen Littau had 3 carries for 24 yards and Drew Schmaderer broke a 20 yard run for a touchdown. 

The defense played solid all night. The Broncos were led by Owen Littau. Littau had 12 tackles for the contest. Ben Paxton had 10 tackles and an interception and Hunter Tubbs had 10 tackles along with 1 sack. Simon Addison had 2 sacks for the Broncos and senior, Cory Gubbels, had a sack for the contest. 

The Broncos will be at home on Friday night for the quarterfinals. They will host SEM at Stuart Park. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
