Project Manager Dan Ziska has announced two road construction projects set to begin in Holt County. -Weather permitting, work is scheduled to begin Monday, June 12th for both projects. The two projects are described below: The first will be on Highway 20 from the Stafford Jct. to the Holt/Antelope County Line in Holt County from reference post 320.74 to 328.84. The second will be on Highway 281 from the Boyd/Holt County line north and south in Boyd and Holt Counties from reference post 204.09 to reference post 209.80, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation. Paulsen, Inc. of Cozad, is the prime contractor for this project. Work includes bridge repair, milling, asphalt paving and drainage structure installation. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers and a pilot car for the milling and asphalt paving operations. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane at the bridge locations with temporary traffic signals. A 12-foot width restriction will be in effect. Anticipated completion is the fall of 2023. Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up and to put phones down.
