Bomgaars Donates $2,600 for Avera St. Anthony's Oncology Patients

Bomgaars recently donated $2,623 to the Avera St. Anthony's Hospital Outpatient Oncology and Infusion Center in order to support patient needs.

The retail chain's annual fundraising event, Ladies' Night, was held in October 2022 at each of its locations. During this one evening, a portion of the total sales is donated to cancer centers/hospitals in the communities Bomgaars serves. The participating 107 locations raised more than $113,000.

The O'Neill Bomgaars was part of the fundraising initiative, and store manager Tim Gleason recently presented a check to Avera St. Anthony's Hospital.

“We are so thankful for the support and the comforts it will allow us to provide for our patients,” said Darcey Shabram, RN, who manages the Outpatient Oncology and Infusion Center at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital. 

Avera St. Anthony's Hospital operates its outpatient oncology department to help people who have cancer get more of their care closer to home. The department uses donations like the one from Bomgaars to provide a comfortable environment for patients who visit for infusion treatments and chemotherapy.
