The Corona virus will inconvenience us into the winter sports season as restrictions will remain in place for the foreseeable future.
The O'Neill Public School varsity winter sports season will kick off this weekend with the O'Neill Wrestling Invite. The invite will be held on Saturday, Dec.5. "We will have nine teams competing and will cap the maximum number of wrestlers at 112. This will be a varsity only meet and no JV wrestling like we have had in the past," said O'Neill High School Athletic Director Nick Hostert.
Each participant can have up to two fans, being immediate family household members only. All teams will have a team homeroom area and will only be in the main gym to warm up and compete. After they compete they will return to their homeroom area. We will follow the same "championship bracket" format we have in the past. Fans from each school will have an assigned area to sit. All fans must wear a mask, limited concessions will be available and matches will be streamed on Eagle Eye Broadcasting.
The following will be allowed for other sporting events at O'Neill Public Schools. Gyms must not exceed 25 percent occupancy.
